Port Harcourt — The Ministers of Petroleum from Nigeria, Algeria, and Niger have endorsed key resolutions for the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, TSGP project, marking a major step forward in the long-awaited energy infrastructure.

The endorsement, which took place in Algiers, Algeria on Tuesday, paves the way for the execution of three crucial agreements that will drive the project’s next phase.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo; Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, H.E. Mohammed Arkab, and Niger Republic’s Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Sahabi Ouamarou, signed off on the resolutions, reinforcing their commitment to the ambitious pipeline project.

The agreements signed include, “Feasibility Study Revalidation – a comprehensive review of the project’s viability and potential, ensuring that the pipeline meets current economic and technical realities.

“Non-Disclosure Agreement – a confidentiality pact to protect sensitive project-related information among stakeholders.

“Reimbursement Agreement – a financial arrangement detailing the terms for reimbursement among the project partners.”

Executives from NNPC Ltd (Nigeria), SONATRACH (Algeria), and SONIDEP (Niger) formally signed the agreements, solidifying cooperation among the three nations.

The milestone represents a renewed push for the 4,128-kilometer pipeline, which aims to transport Nigerian gas through Niger and Algeria to Europe, enhancing regional energy security and economic cooperation.
